LGBTIQ+ Book Recommendations

Here are some of my favourite LGBTIQ+ books. I’ll add to these as I read more, of course, and feel free to get in touch to let me know your favourites.

The Summer of Jordi Perez (Amy Spalding) – super sweet girl meets girl romance, with hamburgers (right up my alley!)

The Monuments (Will Kostakis) – fun, fantasy action-adventure, and Aussie to boot. Made me laugh out loud in some places, and the twists and turns as you get to the end of the book are fantastic. (The sequel, Rebel Gods, is out now).

Amelia Westlake (Erin Gough) – hugely funny contemporary enemies-to-lovers rom-com based around a school hoax. (Also check out The Flywheel).

Her Royal Highness (Rachel Hawkins) – the second book in The Royals series. Another enemies-to-lovers rom-com but this time between an American girl who gets accepted at an exclusive Scottish boarding school and a Scottish princess. (swoon!)

Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda (Becky Albertalli) – if you’ve seen the movie Love, Simon but haven’t read the book yet, you need to do it right now! (I’ll wait). This is one of my all-time favourite LGBTIQ+ books of the last few years. (Also check out the follow-ups, Leah on the Offbeat, and Love, Creekwood.)

And of course, my own sweet, Australian rom-coms, Crush, After Summer and Written in the Stars.
