Brisbane Pride is one of my favourite times of the year. It’s loud, it’s proud and it’s wonderfully colourful. This year, I’ve decided to donate some of the profits from novel pre-sales to the fantastic organisation, Rainbow Families Qld. They provide some wonderful advocacy and support services for LGBTIQ+ families and knowing some fantastic rainbow families myself, I want to support them as much as I can.
So, $5 from each novel ordered on my site before the 14th September (excluding Written in the Stars) will be donated to Rainbow Families Qld.
As an added bonus, everyone who pre-purchases any of the Girls of Summer books (Crush, After Summer and Written in the Stars) or the Alice Henderson books (Alice Henderson On Debut and Alice Henderson Makes the Grade) will get a bonus swag pack containing:
- book series stickers
- bookmarks, including one handmade by me!
- codes to download the ebook copies of the book(s) purchased for you to keep or give to a friend

How does it work?
- Click through to the shop and add books to your cart.
- At checkout, use the code rainbow in the discount box and click “Apply”.
- IMPORTANT. If you’re picking up your books from Fair Day on the 22nd, select “Local Pickup” from the postage menu. If you want your books posted to you, select the postage option (there’s only one!). Postage is charged at a flat rate of $3/item.
- When you get to the order confirmation screen, confirm that you’ll be picking your books on Fair Day in the “Order Notes” box.
- Bring your order number with you when you pick up your books.

Questions
I want to support Rainbow Families by purchasing the books but I won’t be attending the Rainbow Families event or Fair Day. Will my order still have $5 donated to Rainbow Families if I get my books posted to me?
Yes! You will, however, be charged a flat rate of $3 per item in your cart to cover postage, but $5 per eligible book will still go to Rainbow Families Qld, as long as you pre-order from my site before the 14th of September 2018.
Will the books be available at Fair Day? Do I have to pre-purchase them?
They will be available on Fair Day, but pre-purchasing ensures you don’t miss out as I can only take limited stock with me.
Will the books be available for purchase at the Rainbow Families event?
Yes! You can purchase copies from Where The Wild Things Are Bookshop either online or in person. Pre-purchasing ensures you won’t miss out on the copies that are in stock so get in quick.
